Back in a room after a long day

Hey All! Everything with the surgery went fine. Mom had a low heart rate during recovery which means cardiology and pulmonary doctors got involved. Mom's trying to set a world record in doctors! After waiting all day for a room (we'll spare you the story), she finally got a room in the Heart Center, with a window and everything. Her roommate in oncology was sorry to see her go! The update is: surgeon was very happy with what she saw and was able to sew up the wound, infectious diseases doctor is happy and put mom down to one dose of antibiotics a day, which means she can probably just visit the doctors office to continue treatment for the infection. All this means once the cardiologists are happy (which requires a few more tests) Mom might be able to go home! We are hoping for tomorrow after her noon antibiotic treatment, but we are not getting our hearts sent on it.

Today is mom and dad's anniversary - 29 years in sickness and in health! Happy Anniversary Bert and Beth!

BTW Rachel's phone is dead, so try Mom's cell or Dad's cell to reach us. Thanks for all the phone calls and love, we hope to be out of this soon!

-Rachel
