We have a schedule!

Next Wednesday I will go in for another bunch of tests, and then a quick out-patient surgery to put in a medi-port. This will be a device placed under the skin in my right chest, with a small silicone disk in the center, where they will stick all future needles. There is a catheter that runs from the port into a blood vessel, delivering drugs right into the blood stream. This means that to deliver the Herceptin and chemo if we need it later, then they do not need to use my arms, which have the worst, tiny, uncooperative veins in the universe. So that is good. Then Thursday I will go back in for the first dose of Herceptin, and the shot of Fulvestrant, and I will be a cancer killing machine! Then I will have two weeks before I go back again, and then will be going in every Thursday for a month after that to either get a shot, or an Herceptin dose. Yeah for a schedule!
