after a quick visit, headed East again

Doesn't seem like I was in either place very long on this turn around, but I guess that is because I wasn't! I was one week in Virginia and one week in Washington.

I was a busy week in Virginia. Arrived just in time to pack my office and get ready for the big move. We went three whole blocks, to a nice new office with views of the Potomac River. Not in my office, buy in some offices they have views, so we will just have to sit in Jen's and John's offices more. We left our stacks of tubs on Friday, and arrived Monday morning to find our tubs and furniture in the new office. Pretty easy move for all but John. We did have several days of screwing around with phones and computers, but pretty dang easy overall.

Over the weekend was the big Avon Walk, and my team, the BG's did a great job! Here they are at sunrise at the Washington Monument on Saturday morning. Jen is blister free at this point, and they both look ready to go after getting up at 4 am! They walked every bit of the 37 miles, 26 on Saturday. I met them for dinner and a quick visit before they climbed into their pink tent with all the other walkers!

Sunday was not as nice a day, but Jen and Karen trudge on thru the drizzle, to arrive at the finish line just after noon! An amazing job, so thanks to all of you that supported their walk (they raised a bunch of money!), and thanks to the BG's for all that they did!

Karen tried to get Jen to sign up for 2012 right after they crossed the finish line! Jen was not having any of that!

On Monday I went and visited my Virginia oncologist, and she has agreed to be part of the Seattle team, arranging for me to get my medication when I am in the East. So, I am set: can go back and forth to my heart's desire and keep my meds on schedule as well. Great arrangement.

Tuesday was unpacking, and settling in to the new office. I forgot pictures, will post some when I get back this trip. On Wednesday and Thursday I attended an advisory committee (discussions of artificial intelligence operated boats and virtual buoys, its getting pretty wild out there in the navigation world) and then I was on a plane headed home again!

The week in Seattle was busy with Mother's Day (my girls spoiled me) Rachel and Michal's birthday and visiting a few members. Went to see oncologist here, everything going good. He has ordered new CT scans in 30 days, and that is when we will find out if this regime of medications is doing the trick or not.

Today was Seattle Maritime day, so the family went on a harbor tour! Thank you Argosy for the free cruise. And the sun came out and made a rare appearance! Tomorrow, off to Maine for 5 days! (I think it is raining there, too!)
